The children in Year One have been learning lots and lots
about the local organisations in Ormeau that help people. On Thursday
we were lucky enough to give a little bit of help to Saint Vincent De
Paul. Mrs Evans and her family go to the Baker's Delight at the
Hyperdome every Wednesday evening because Baker's Delight donate the
bread that they haven't sold that day to charities. Mrs Evan's brought
the bread to school and we all helped her to put the loaves into bags
and tie them up. Mrs Evan's then takes the bread to the Saint Vincent
De Paul 'base' in Beenleigh and that bread helps people in the local
community. We were very excited to do something small but with great
love. Thank you very much Mrs Evan's!
Then Mrs Evan's and her family collect the bread that was not sold during the day.
Joseph helps to bag up the bread.
Ryan helps to bag up the bread too.
It's all put into a huge freezer. Then it is given to people in need from our local community.
